Ben Shipperd completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours in 2009 at Monash University, graduating with a high distinction average.
Ben graduated with the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia prize awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) to the top student in musculoskeletal theory units and clinical placements. Ben also received various other Achievement Awards and scholarships from the university. Ben's honours thesis was published internationally, and improved knowledge on the effect of amino acid supplementation on skill performance and central fatigue in AFL players.
Ben commenced full time Physiotherapist practice in 2010, at the leading Physiotherapy clinic in Cranbourne and Pakenham, under the guidance of specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, David Francis. He has moved to Bentleigh and now brings his expertise to Correct and the Bayside area!
A local club cricketer/cricket tragic, Ben has a love and passion for the game at all levels. He has a special professional interest in both cricket and football injuries, including player rehabilitation and injury management. He has done further study and training in the area of Shoulder, Lower Limb (hip, knee, ankle), Pilates and Dry Needling. As a new father, he also has an interest in adolescent and paediatric musculoskeletal injuries.
For the past 4 years, Ben has worked directly with elite sporting teams at Collingwood FC VFL and the Victorian Bushrangers. Prior to these roles, he built his experience with stints at Caulfield Grammarians and Tooradin-Dalmore Football Club.
Ben is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and Sports Physiotherapy Australia.
